 AquaMats® have a unique surface structure designed to provide an optimal balance of natural feed production and supplemental biofiltration.
 The biological growth of selected bacteria and benthic communities on AquaMats® produces an ideal natural food for zooplankton which in turn supplements the diet of fish. The natural growth also provides supplemental biofiltration to aid the rapid uptake and removal of excess nitrogen and phosphorous, and immobilizes toxic metals like copper and aluminum. This process can be enhanced by using Microbes for irrigation and flow-through ponds.
