Point Four's Probe Mount assembly reduces the amount of time operators need to spend on probe maintenance and calibration while at the same time improving the accuracy of Dissolved Oxygen (DO) measurement under difficult conditions. The Probe Mount is designed to work with OxyGuard Dissolved Oxygen Probes for use in wastewater and similar high bioloading conditions where probe fouling occurs due to build up of rags and fibrous material.
The assembly comprises a pivoting aluminum frame (can be attached to a hand rail as shown below) and a corrosion resistant PVC pipe construction with a probe holder tube connected by flexible bellows. The probe fits inside the end of the probe holder.
In the Working Position, the probe is fully submerged. The flexible bellows allow the probe to swing freely in the water, always following the direction of the current. Rags and fibrous material slide off and around instead of building up making the probe virtually self-cleaning. The probe is always fully submerged. The required depth is adjusted by adding ballast (e.g. water or shot) to the mounting pipe below the bellows.
Bringing the Probe Mount up into the Service Position allows easier access to the probe for routine maintenance. |
